The Washington International Education Council (WIEC) provides a variety of services to
international educators. With a combined total of over eighty years of experience dedicated
to international education WIEC, has worked with students from more than one hundred countries
and has on the ground experience in more than forty countries. WIEC staff members are
consulted by universities throughout the world and have established linkages between
institutions abroad and colleges, universities, private high schools and intensive English
language programs.

WIEC specializes in assisting North American institutions by designing and implementing
programs to attract qualified international students. Services include organizing the
annual Washington International Education Conference bringing sponsoring agencies together
with representatives from higher education institutions, publications dedicated to
broadening the awareness of the availability of higher education options for international
students, and assistance with the placement of international students at selected institutions.
The Washington International Education Conference features Embassy meetings and presentations
with the latest developments in the recruitment of international students to the United
States. The WIEC is the premier event bringing together Education Attachés from Washington
based Embassies, sponsoring organizations, university and language program representatives,
and all branches of the US Government involved with international students. For additional

WIEC provides support services to sponsoring organizations including Educational Attachés,
Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) and corporations sponsoring training programs.
