The Washington International Education Council (WIEC)
provides a variety of services to international educators and
students. With a combined total of over sixty years of
experience dedicated to international education WIEC, has
worked with students from more than one hundred countries and
has on the ground experience in more than forty countries.
WIEC staff members are consulted by universities throughout
the world and have established linkages between institutions
abroad and colleges, universities, private high schools and
intensive English language programs.

WIEC specializes in assisting North American institutions
implement programs to attract qualified international
students. Services include conferences bringing sponsoring
agencies together with institutional representatives,
publications dedicated to broadening the awareness of the
availability of higher education options for international
students, college fairs that bring interested students
together with North American institutions, and assistance with
the placement of international students at selected
institutions.
WIEC provides support services to sponsoring organizations
including Educational Attachés, Non-governmental Organizations
(NGOs) and corporations sponsoring training programs.
WIEC also serves the needs of international students directly.
WIEC offers educational counseling and placement services to
students going on to higher education in the United States.
WIEC has up to date information on the visa application
process for international students who wish to study in North
America. WIEC has met with Consular Officers at North American
Embassies and Consulates in more than twenty countries and
maintains regular contact with the United States Department of
State and the Department of Homeland Security concerning visa
and immigration matters.
